The thing to remember — and one of the things I appreciate — is that these principles are not unique to one culture, one philosophy, or one religion. Courage, smiling, appreciation, caring, believing, simplicity, education — the principles of the first week — all predate Gandhi and MLK; they also predate Jesus and the Buddha. One could argue that they are universal.

One could argue that they move through our stories like rivers.

And, if there is one thing I appreciate, it’s good stories.
